First of Many

A few weeks ago we went up to Hobble Creek for our first Squire Reunion. First off, I do love my family...but I made Kevin promise me he would stay married to me after this weekend (He'd only met them all once on our wedding day). Anyway, my mom and her sisters starting planning this extravaganza last year to celebrate my grandpa's 90th birthday. We all know how family goes, cousins grow up and everyone moves and then they have more kids, which makes it hard for everyone to get together. I think we were all very lucky to have almost the entire family at the cabin. I guess our family isn't super large and I wish I had more pictures of family then scenery (Blame that on my mom) but when you have my grandparents, their 5 kids, their 18 grand kids, plus spouses and 35 great grand kids (Minus 10 people)...then that's a lot of family to get together!!

BUT we were able to fit everyone and not a whole lot of problems, well maybe some families had problems in their various rooms but when you had the whole family out it was great! The cabin was HUGE, the layout was super weird and I think everyone got lost a time or two but seriously... This place had a huge master bedroom, I think 10 bedrooms with lots of bunk beds, an indoor basketball court, a tree house with a playground, pool tables, pretty nice kitchen and a pond in the front yard and probably more.

The adventures of the cabin consisted of nature walks, kids playing in the creek despite what their parents told them, water games, lots of meals, playing games, me winning at Phase 10-twice!!(Thanks to Rachel the 2nd time), Kevin memorizing every one's  names since this was the first time he had really met any of my side of the family. Oh what else...kids did arts and crafts, a few of the guys played some golf, we had an awesome DVD of some past family adventures, my grandparents crying about how 68 years ago they never would have dreamed of a family like ours...others cried as well :) Lots more family fun on top of that!

Needless to say it was a wonderful weekend! I wish I had more pictures of how we fit 10 people into our room or how the others did but oh well. Just imagine two people on the queen bed, a 4 year old on a cot next to it, 2 sets of bunk beds and a queen sized air mattress in the middle of those and a baby in a port-a-crib in the closet :D

As for the rest of the summer and our plans...
We might be going up to Logan this weekend, but who really knows. My family is taking a quick one day trip to Lake Mead before school starts. School sadly starts on the 22nd, I have two semesters left until I graduate with my Bachelor's, Kevin will have his associates in the Fall. A big change is Kevin won't be playing football anymore for DSC so that will  be quite different for him not to have a sport going on so he's trying to look for a new job. Hopefully finding a new place to move into...This is a ways a way but, after I graduate we'll re-evaluate where we are and possibly be moving.... So keep looking for our posts!!

Hope you enjoy some of the pictures!!
