If you follow me on Instagram then you already know this, I'm just posting about it for my sake. About a month ago while we were leaving Lake Powell I was checking my e-mails and voicemails. I had 1 voicemail from a member of the bishopric and an e-mail from a different member of the bishopric. Later that day I received another e-mail but this was from the executive secretary then he ended up calling me a few hours later. I replied to all of these saying I was out of town, would be back Thursday but leaving again Saturday afternoon (we had Chad's Farewell that Sunday.) Come Saturday morning Kevin ended up getting a text from a member of the bishopric seeing if I could come in and see him and the bishop when they got home from the trek.
To me that was a lot of people trying to communicate with me about something that might be important. I wasn't thinking I was going to be called as YW president or anything like that, but I really couldn't think of what it could be. I was in the Nursery and on the Activity Committee for RS. That was perfectly fine with me. A few hours later as I go into the bishop's office then they called me to be the 2nd Counselor in the Primary Presidency. Now this isn't a major calling, nor is it a very stressful calling. Especially compared to callings I've had within the last 4 years. But this calling was unexpected to say the least.
I'm still trying to get to know all of the kids and trying to figure out what to say when they say something completely random, but it's a fun calling. Different, but fun. Teaching little kids is going to be hard for me, at least trying to say things that are on their level. But until I feel comfortable with that then I'll probably always feel like I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off. It's all a learning experience right? He wouldn't have inspired the Primary President to call me unless he knew that I could do it. The Lord doesn't call you, He qualifies you.

Love that last line! So true.
